Welcome to WordSalad, where I hope to put more avocado, feta cheese and olives in the bowl than cheap iceberg lettuce (though I think we all appreciate a wild Romaine heart... give me a hot-blooded Gypsy anyday). Organic Balsamic vinegar may get thrown about with reckless abandon; forgive me if I get some in your eye, or if any of my ingredients are not to your taste.

i remember that… the picture underlines the words perfectly…
@Claudia Thank you Cloudy… it’s a tough poem
gods this is a visceral poem, you got that right…great choice of pic as well luke…
Strong piece Luke. It really does have a winteresque feel to it and the image of the tree mirrors that atmosphere you depict in the piece itself. Great job. Thanks
This one is hard to forget, but the picture adds to it nicely.
One of my favorites
Great picture choice, Luke…adds another layer to the intensity of the poem. This poem remains so powerful for me, some of your finest work.
Thank you all. I think I finally found the right picture for it. The poem’s been edited a little also.
Brian got the right word there, visceral. it’s a bit eeerie too, i wonder if the character you present really feels this way or is much into melodrama. it could go either way.
@zongrik Which character? There are four
Those edits to the words have darkened and intensified the whole… the hollow tree speaks volumes. A new edition then.. quite a different read in this format.
Strong craft on both planes, Luke.. shows the power of combing words with the right visuals.
@becky kilsby Thanks Becky
WOW.
That’s all – solid poem … and the image was awesome as well…
@Bajanpoet Praise indeed. Thank you, Bajanpoet
